If you were not selected and wish to reapply, you will be eligible to reapply when there is a new Flight Attendant Trainee opening and after six months and one day from the date of the last communication sent to you regarding your previous application status.

You can view your application status in your profile on the American Airlines career site. You will receive email communications from our Talent team as your status changes.

I applied but I haven’t heard anything from American?

The flight attendant trainee opportunity is in high-demand, and it may take some time to hear from our Talent team. We will be in touch via email about next steps in the application process as soon as possible.

How can I best prepare for the virtual group interview?

Treat a virtual interview as professionally as an in-person interview. Here are some tips:

  • Scheduling: This interview will be scheduled. Please note, that we have a strict reschedule policy.
  • Environment: Ensure you are in a quiet, professional setting with good lighting, as you will be using your camera.
  • Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is essential. Video is required for all interviews.
  • Interview Conduct: Answer questions clearly, honestly, and accurately. Avoid reading pre-written answers directly from a piece of paper or another screen.


What should I be aware of to prepare for my in-person interview?

As you prepare to join our team in Texas for the in-person interview, keep the following in mind: 

  • Dress Code: Consider how our flight attendants dress and use that as inspiration. Wear clean, pressed, and professional clothing.
  • Appearance: Our uniform policy does not allow visible tattoos, so keep that in mind as you prepare.
  • Presentation: Be prepared to present your best self as you would represent American Airlines.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1- Apply for the position
Apply for the Flight Attendant position and complete the
online assessment for us to learn more about you.

2- Virtual group interview
Once our team reviews your application and assessment,
you may receive an email link to participate in a virtual group interview,
which is considered your first formal interview.

3- In-person interview
After your virtual group interview, you may be invited to meet our team
and join us at our world-class training facility for an in-person interview.
If successful, you may be invited to Flight Attendant training.

4- Training 
During this six week course, you’ll be immersed in a mix of
fast-paced classroom, online and hands-on training. Although
training is unpaid, food and lodging are provided.

5- Get your wings
Upon successful completion of training and if selected, it’s time
for you to fly and join our family of American Airlines Flight Attendants.
